The EU are milking every opportunity to target propaganda at young children, an MEP has pointed out.

“We keep coming across incidents of the EU blatantly targeting school children and yet one more example has now come to my attention,” said Paul Nuttall, local UKIP Euro-MP.

“Schools which get European Union subsidised milk are forced to display a large poster highlighting the fact that ‘the school provides dairy products subsidised under the European school milk scheme’.

“This A3 poster must be ‘situated in a clearly visible and readable place at the main entrance of the school’,” he explained.

“That’s a whole load of free advertising for the generosity of EU, I’m just surprised they don’t also make the children doff their caps as they walk past the poster every day.

“But, of course, it’s not generosity at all, the Brussels bureaucrats are just giving back an infinitesimal part of the £50 million we hand over to them every day.

“Children should be given unbiased information about the EU but this is not a level playing field and at every turn pro-EU propaganda is directed at them. It is just plain wrong,” said Mr Nuttall.

News that EU interference in our mortgage market could force North West families out of their homes has been branded a “disgrace” by MEP Paul Nuttall.

“People are under enough financial pressure already without the EU meddling in mortgage regulation and potentially forcing them out of their homes. This is an absolute disgrace.

“The Euro crisis is already putting the squeeze on bank lending and now this EU directive will make things worse. The last thing that UK householders need is this ridiculous move from the EU,” said Mr Nuttall, UKIP Euro-MP for the North West.

It is feared that a directive being pushed through the European Parliament will force repossessions, speed up eviction processes and cut the discretion that building societies and banks can give those struggling to keep up with their payments.

“The EU should get its own financial house in order before interfering in the mortgages of the British people,” said Mr Nuttall, UKIP deputy leader.

Local MEP Paul Nuttall has added his support to a petition campaign by Anne Williams, who lost her 15-year-old son Kevin in the Hillsborough tragedy.

She is fighting for a new inquest into the teenager’s untimely death and has so far collected more than 42,000 signatures on a government e-petition calling for an accidental death verdict to be overturned.

Her previous calls to the Attorney General have been rejected three times but undeterred she is still battling to uncover the truth and needs 100,000 e-petition signatures by Thursday (Jan 19) so that the issue can be debated in parliament.

“My heart goes out to Anne Williams and her family. I know they will never rest until a new inquest is held and her concerns about the unanswered questions over his death are resolved,” said Mr Nuttall, UKIP’s deputy leader.

“I lost close personal friends at that match and understand as well as anyone how deep the scars of that tragedy go. Time is tight for this e-petition and I urge everyone to sign it.”

Local UKIP Euro-MP Paul Nuttall has described the Government’s attempt to pass on the blame and costs of faulty PIP breast implants as “wrong.”

In supporting the position of the private health clinics who are arguing that they are not ultimately responsible for the health care nightmare faced by tens of thousands of British woman, UKIP reveals where the ultimate responsibility lies.

Mr Nuttall, UKIP’s consumer health spokesman, said, “The blame is not with the clinics, nor is it with the British regulators – the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).

“The real responsibility lies in a combination of regulatory failure in France, and then EU laws that prevent British authorities from protecting British consumers.

He added, “Under EU law the national regulatory authorities can grant their own companies and products a CE (European Conformity) mark, which provides a guarantee of quality. EU law then forbids the MHRA from conducting further checks.”

The French authorities did finally shut down PIP, but not before 40,000 British women had been fitted with these faulty implants. The MHRA is forced, under EU law, to permit the import and marketing of any device which bears a CE mark, even though it has no direct jurisdiction over the manufacturer.

Mr Nuttall added, “I am writing to the European Commission to demand that in the future British authorities be allowed to make quality control border and spot checks on imported CE marked products, in order that they can in future do their job and protect the interests of British consumers.

“I am also calling on the Government to require the French authorities to provide compensation that will allow private clinics to remove and replace implants without being driven to bankruptcy through no fault of their own.

“Financial responsibility should rest where moral responsibility lies.”

A warning that wind power could actually produce more CO2 than gas and increase domestic fuel bills has been highlighted by local MEP Paul Nuttall.

A study in the Netherlands has found that turning back-up gas power stations on and off to cover spells when there is little wind actually produces more carbon than a steady supply of energy from an efficient modern gas station.

“A new report by the Civitas think tank warns that the UK is in danger of producing more carbon dioxide (CO2) than necessary if the grid relies too much on wind,” explained Mr Nuttall, UKIP Euro-MP.

“It has long been known that wind turbines only produce energy around 30 per cent of the time and when the wind is not blowing – or even blowing too fast as demonstrated in the recent storms – other sources of electricity have to be used, mostly gas and coal.

“The report points out that it takes a surge of electricity to power up the fossil fuel stations every time they are needed, meaning more carbon emissions are released.

“The report concludes that ‘wind projects do not fulfill ‘sustainable’ objectives. They cost more fuel than they save and they cause no CO2 saving, in the contrary they increase our environmental ‘foot print’.,” said Mr Nuttall, UKIP deputy leader.

“This is a timely report considering the government plans to build up to 32,000 wind turbines over the next 20 years. Most of these are proposed to be off-shore and this report found that these are the most ‘horrendously’ expensive.

“The whole agenda is driven by the need to meet EU renewable energy targets. They are impossible to meet, are adding to our electricity bills and it is quite plain that wind is not the answer.

“Our government needs to make a stand on this issue and stop this insane lemming-like rush over the edge of reason,” said Mr Nuttall.

A new survey revealing that most people in this country want to leave the EU has been welcomed by local UKIP Euro-MP Paul Nuttall.

The online survey shows this is the national view by almost a 2:1 majority and a vast 83% majority would vote against the UK adopting the Euro.

“The results do not surprise me and it demonstrates that there must be a referendum to reflect the will of the people. But of course the major parties reject the wishes of the population,” said Mr Nuttall, UKIP deputy leader.

The Angus Reid poll shows that in the North of the country 28% would vote to stay in the the EU and 44% would vote to leave.

“It also reveals that in the North 58% agree with David Cameron’s rejection of a new treaty aimed at tightening fiscal rules for European countries that use the euro, and only 19% disagree.

“But of course Cameron has no intention of either giving us a referendum or leaving the EU and the City of London is still in jeopardy with the proposed Financial Transaction Tax.

“He must block this proposal which is not in our interests. It will be immensely damaging and cannot be allowed to happen,” said Mr Nuttall.

“It is not surprising that the only other country apart from Britain which is unhappy with the Franco-German proposal is Sweden. After all they are the only country to have introduced an FTT.

“Their Finance Minister, Anders Borg has explained that when they began taxing financial transactions in the 1980s, between 90%-99% of traders in bonds, equities and derivatives moved out of Stockholm to London.

“It brought in very little tax money while moving most of the businesses outside of Sweden and our country would suffer in the same way.

“The EU in its desperation to raise funds to support its failed economic experiment must not be allowed to destroy the City of London.”

Local MEP Paul Nuttall today welcomed a new report which has highlighted the ‘remarkable coincidence’ between the rise in youth unemployment in the UK and the huge surge in immigration from Eastern Europe over the last eight years.

The report by think-tank Migration Watch UK shows an apparent correlation between this surge and the growth in UK youth unemployment that followed.

“This report shows what we have been arguing for years,” said Mr Nuttall, UKIP deputy leader.

“As Sir Andrew Green, Migration Watch chairman says when the two statistics are placed side by side people would consider it a very remarkable coincidence if there was no link at all between them.

“This situation is not going to improve while we remain in the EU as we are powerless to stop this endless stream of immigrants, in this case mainly from the former Soviet-bloc countries,” said Mr Nuttall.

“The previous Government claimed that migration from these A8 countries has had virtually no impact on UK youth unemployment in this period – this would appear to nail that lie,” he added.

Wirral MEP Paul Nuttall has leapt to the aid of Greasby residents by writing to David Cameron asking him to support them in their fight against plans threatening their village.

“The Prime Minister has just called in retail guru Mary Portas to help save the country’s High Streets which have been devastated by supermarkets and out-of-town retail parks.

“And this trend is continuing as shown by the new plans to develop on the Red Cat public house car park. Local residents fought off an earlier attempt to develop the site but now brewer Greene King has submitted revised proposals, ” said Mr Nuttall, UKIP Euro-MP.

“I understand these involve supermarket giant Sainsbury and a veterinarian practice resembling an out-of-town retail park. Understandably local residents are up in arms about this as they feel it will become another cloned village designed by outsiders with no interest in local views.

“David Cameron claims to be concerned about the demise of the High Street and so I have written to him highlighting this particular situation. Greasby is one of a diminishing number of villages and towns with small shops – such as an excellent butcher and delicatessen, post office and florist.

“Residents rightly fear that yet another supermarket, even if not huge in size, will jeopardise those shops, the village atmosphere and cause increased traffic problems,” said Mr Nuttall.

The deadline for objections to the council is January 5 and protestors have organised petitions and are calling on people to write to the authority’s technical services department in Birkenhead’s Cheshire Lines building objecting quoting reference number APP/11/01418.
